After his elderly owner passed away, this 13-year-old cat spent years surviving on his own as a stray, until one kind human showed the “grumpiest cat ever” that he didn’t have to do it alone anymore
Behind every grumpy cat, there is a soft kitty just waiting for the right human to take a chance on them.
Stray cats are tough. Not necessarily because they want to be, but because they have to be. Life outside is not easy. We look at our spoiled house cats, and we do not see it. We have no idea what stray cats really go through. They have to fight for every scrap of food, every bit of shelter, every hint of warmth and affection. None of that comes for free. So, even if a stray cat is a softie at heart, the streets harden them. They force these cats into grumpiness.
But like we have seen time and time again, basically all aggressive, scary, and grumpy stray cats are just waiting for the right human to take a chance on them. It has to be the right one. Few humans would take a chance on them in the first place, and even fewer humans would know what to do with a stray cat like that once they have them. These cats need special care. They need people who have the patience of saints, who are truly willing to wait - not push - and let the cat come to them.
Although it is rare for that to happen, when it does, it is quite meowgical. Watching the "scary" stray turn into a melted puddle of love and cuddles is absolutely incredible. And it is worth every second. It could take months for a cat like this to let its walls down, or you could be incredibly lucky, and it could take just a few days. That's all that the kitty in today's video needed. He had decided that he was done with street life, and that he was finally ready to give humans a chance again after being abandoned all those years ago. And luckily for him, the CDS got him to the right human on the very first try. And now, he can live out his golden years in peace, loved until the very end of his days.
